Kristin’s love of art and design began as a small child. As each new design comes to life it captures a story that adds to the journey she has been on for over 30 years.
After pursuing a BFA in Costume Design and Technology from the University of Illinois with additional study in Costume and Set Design at the University of Wales she relocated to London. This gave her an opportunity to travel extensively throughout Europe gaining unique hands-on experiences.
In 1990, upon her return to the United States she began her creative career as a designer and artisan in the entertainment, fashion and textile industries. Kristin worked with many of the most prominent theatrical companies in the United States, as well as in television and on feature films. She was nominated for an Emmy in Costume Design for her work on Another World in 1998. Kristin’s creative work includes numerous companies such as CBS, NBC, Lincoln Center, Carnegie Hall, Santa Fe Opera, Chicago Shakespeare and many more. Boppy Company became one of Kristin’s clients, then, she was hired to be their Product Designer and Developer for 5 years. As part of the creative team she interfaced and collaborated with all departments within the organization, ensuring brand fit when bringing newly patented products to market.
During her creative career Kristin entered the world of parenting a child with multiple challenges. For over a decade, Kristin has been customizing for her daughter, and others with challenges, working in close collaboration with health care providers, both traditional and alternative. Kristin continued her research in the wellness industry. This unexpected journey made an impact in her creative work, lifestyle, and environment. Bringing insight to universal design.
In 2005, Kristin and her family relocated to Western North Carolina where, in her own design studio, she creates daily and is also a design partner for the Carolina Textile District and other companies. A member of the Costume Society of America, International Textile and Apparel Association and Surface Design Association. Her myüzio collection, trash to treasure will be launching this winter.
Kristin continues enhancing life adventures through arts, design and cultures.
